{"id":892,"date":"2018-03-18T22:25:18","date_gmt":"2018-03-18T22:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kiddyzone.co.uk\/news\/?p=892"},"modified":"2018-03-03T22:26:52","modified_gmt":"2018-03-03T22:26:52","slug":"shopping-with-your-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kiddyzone.co.uk\/news\/2018\/03\/shopping-with-your-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Shopping with your kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As you\u2019re shopping let your kids help you pick out fruit and veggies in the produce department, have fun counting the number of apples they add to the bag, the different colours of peppers to choose from, and the funny names of the melons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before going into the store tell your kids exactly what you expect from them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Expect that they:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will stay nearby and not run through the store<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will try to be aware of other people and not get in their way<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will not throw a fit if they don\u2019t get something<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be helpful and participate in the process.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before we step foot in the store, remind them of my expectations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make A List<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go armed in the supermarket with clipboards, paper, and pencils, ready to check off each and everything on your lists.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Giving them a fun tasks keeps them engaged in the shopping experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make Kids Your Helper<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continually engaging the children in the shopping process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not only does this keep them from getting bored and restless, it also teaches them how to shop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you use these new tools, most of the time you will actually enjoy your shopping trips together. \u00a0It\u2019s not always perfect and there will be times when you have a rough day, but that\u2019s life?<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As you\u2019re shopping let your kids help you pick out fruit and veggies in the produce department, have fun counting the number of apples they add to the bag, the different colours of peppers to choose from, and the funny names of the melons.
